How to use Adsense Custom Channels with Blogger

Google has made it very easy for AdSense users to integrate AdSense with their blogger blogs.

As any AdSense user knows (or should know), one of the keys to maximizing your AdSense revenue is the ability to evaluate your AdSense statistics with the use of channels. So while Blogger's new layout templates allow you to easily add AdSense units that are linked to your AdSense account to your blogger blog, there is no wizard-type interface to use adsense channels with Blogger.

The solution is simple. Use the HTML/Javascript option for your template layout.

Here's how:
1. Generate AdSense code as you normally would for a regular web page.

2. Add the code to your Blogger template.

  • Go to Templates > Page Elements.
  • In the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" area, click on "Add a Page Element".
  • Click on the "HTML/Javascript" option. Then cut and paste the code you just generated from AdSense into the "Content" section. Consider leaving the "Title" section blank, as you want the ads to blend in with your page content.
  • Position the page element as you normally would
Not that the same AdSense rules apply about the number of AdSense units per page, etc.
